Iconic

The following is an excerpt from a critique written by Tomas Texino in his column "Damned Lies" regarding my iconic series which he has dubbed "The Fire Style"...

Old "Uncle Joe" was such a black and white fellow it would be
interesting to see him done in the "Fire Style" Most of the
questionable world citizens whom Sciotto paints seem to fall into the fire
very well. Mao would work and so would Hitler. Still Stalin might be
a challenge. What a Dictator! I was reading about this fellow who
came up with biodiversity theory and how you should preserve as many
types of seeds as possible in case a major world event caused famine
or crop failure. Well Stalin had the guy arrested for practicing
"useless" science and he starved to death up in some Gulag. Yes sir,
those Reds really had it figured out. Or actually Orwell did when he
said that "some animals were more equal than others." Anyway, this (Osama) is
a good painting. I'm not sure why Sciotto is showing him so young and
fresh but he has done that with other despots and maybe that's just
the way he sees them before they are consumed in "The fire Style".
